August 27 Welcome to Grande Prairie
Barbeque, social evening

9 a.m. North America’s Largest Sundial, Grande Prairie

10 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Journey to Historic Dunvegan Park – park tour, lunch, tour greenhouses, get some ice cream! Lunch will be available from Sandy’s Burger Barn at the Park. Several lunch specials to choose from. Ice Cream is optional. Grande Prairie to Dunvegan approx 116km ( fuel available in Rycroft)

World’s Largest Railroad Spike – Hines Cree
1. p.m. End of Steel Museum – Hines Creek – visit the new taxidermy building, featuring the many
animals of the Boreal forest. Then it is onto the World’s Largest Railroad Spike. UFA fuel stop

From Hines Creek we head to Manning to see the coolest museum in the Peace Country. The Battle River Museum features thousands of items including an albino moose, two headed calf and antique tractor display. While in Manning we certainly won’t miss the World’s only HOOSE! Fuel stop in Manning – approx 171 km from Dunvegan Park to Manning ( fuel available in Fairview and Grimshaw)

6 p.m. Half way from Manning to Peace River is the lovely Hamlet of Dixonville. Claiming to have the World’s Smallest Mall, Dixonville will host our Bike Rodeo and the County of Northern Lights will serve up a b-b-que with the works! Then we depart for Peace River. Approx. 100 km from Manning to Peace River.

Back in Peace River, Riders can socialize and play a little Peace Country Trivia before turning in for the night.

Riders are welcome to visit the Peace River Museum from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

12-ft-monument overlooking Peace River Valley
At 10 a.m. we are heading up the hill to the 12 Foot Davis Memorial Site. Here lie the remains of Henry Fuller Davis, overlooking the beautiful Peace River Valley and the Town of Peace River.

11 a.m. No trip to the Peace Country would be complete without heading down the Shaftesbury Trail and taking a pleasure cruise across the

mighty Peace River on the tug boat powered Shaftesbury Ferry.

Leaving the valley we will head to Grande Prairie Regional College – Fairview Campus to tour Canada’s Only Harley Davidson Training Institute, have a wind up celebration and say our good bye’s until next year! Peace River to Fairview approx 110 km. Fuel available in Fairview.
