Here are some events that are taking place in the Grande Prairie area during the month of August!

CFCA Juried Show! August 1-31 Art show at the Centre for Creative Arts. Located downtown Grande Prairie at 9904 101 ave Tim Heimdal Art Show August 2-29 Art exhibit in Beaverlodge at the Cultural Centre. Located at 512 5th ave Native Fastball Championships August 2-4 Grande Prairie will host the 2013 Canadian Native Fastball championships with 80 teams. Join us at South Bear Creek for some high quality fastball for 3 days Heritage Day Festival August 5 Celebrating Heritage Day there will be a festival located in Muskoseepi Park. Come rediscover your historical roots through genealogical research, heritage household and mechanical demonstrations, cultural dance, music and food. Valleyview Fair & Rodeo August 9-11 Join in the parade, pancake breakfast, youth events and rodeo in Valleyview, Ab. Valleyview is 110 kms from Grande Prairie down highway 43. The rodeo grounds are located at 4202 40th ave. Bonebed Tours Every Friday (5 pm), Saturday (10:30 am & 3:30 pm), and Sunday (10:30 am & 3:30 pm) at Pipestone Creek Campground. Meet in the main parking lot in front of the small dinosaur museum. Bonebed tour lasts 2 hours, wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather! Hythe Motor Speedway August 10,11 and 31 Hythe motor speedway is located approximately 60 kms west on highway 43 of Grande Prairie. Saturday, August 10, 5:00 pm is the Monster Mini Nationals and again on Sunday, August 11 at 2:00 pm. Saturday, August 31, 6:00 pm is the IMCA Super Nationals, this event continues all of the long weekend Agricultural Fair + Trade Show August 16 & 17 Join us in Beaverlodge’s annual fair and trade show at the Beaverlodge Agriculture Complex |

There is free swimming in the Hythe pool followed by a community dinner at the legion. |
