New Members Appointed to Travel Alberta Board of Directors

Dr. Richard Starke, Minister responsible for Travel Alberta, has announced that three new members have been appointed to the Travel Alberta Board of Directors:

Stewart Wilson - Grande Prairie
Francisco Gomez - Canmore
Don Oszli - Red Deer

Their terms of office will be effective from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2016.

All three bring extensive board and committee experience to Travel Alberta, and Dr. Starke is confident they, along with the rest of the board, will make a valuable contribution to growing the tourism industry in Alberta.

Congratulations to Stewart, Francisco and Don on their appointments.  With the appointment of these three individuals, the Travel Alberta Board of Directors is now at full membership.

Reminder: The ALL NEW Travel Alberta 2014 EQ Workshops in Grande Prairie

The workshops are designed to familiarize and educate industry partners on the EQ framework, how and when to use it, and successful examples. The following outlines the new workshops in Grande Prairie for 2014.

PART 1 of 3 - Say Hello to your Best Customer, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 22
Have you ever wondered why one person is happy to relax and read a book by the pool while another wants endless exploration on a vacation? As individuals, we each value different things and that includes how we want to spend our time on vacation. This workshop explores how one’s social and travel values influence the kinds of experiences we seek. This in-depth look at EQ, a segmentation tool founded on values, will give you:
  • An understanding  of the values and motivations of the EQ types
  • How these values drive purchase decisions
  • Which EQ type is your business’s “best customer”

PART 2 of 3 - Building Experiences for your Best Customer, 12:00 pm, Tuesday, February 18

PART 3 of 3 - Marketing Experiences to your Best Customer, 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 19

This is a three part series and we encourage you to enroll in all three sessions to get the maximum benefits of these workshops.  All sessions will be held at Centre 2000 unless otherwise stated.  Cost is FREE to attend and lunch will be provided.  Deadline to register for the first session is Friday, January 17, 2014.  Please RSVP to info@gptourism.ca or 780-539-7688.
