Annual Rycroft Chuckwagon Races

For the eighth consecutive year, the Western Chuckwagon Association and All Pro Chuckwagon Association will be back tearing up the track in Rycroft, Alberta. The Rycroft Ag Society offers you four days of exciting thoroughbred and pony chuckwagon races.

Checkered Owl Jazz Festival

Pioneer Days July 20-21
During the weekend you can see the log planner, bundle threshing, plowing, blacksmithing, wheelwright, and horse drawn wagon rides. Other heritage demonstrations include soap making, heritage crafts, rope making, wool carding, lard rendering, clay oven baking, and milk separating. Pioneer Days also features musical entertainment by local musicians, log sawing and planning, shingle making, grist mill (grinding wheat to flour), morning breakfast, food booth, popcorn, and ice-cream cones
Every Friday join the SPCM for a home cooked ethnic lunch from 11:30-1:30, and on Tuesdays join them for home cooked suppers from 5:30-7:30. 10$ a plate and all proceeds go to museum projects.
