2013 Spring Showcase

Just a reminder that once again we will be participating in the Spring Showcase in Edmonton.  This event is designed to deliver product knowledge and customer service training to front-line Visitor Information Centre (VIC) staff, supervisors, managers and volunteers from across Alberta. This year the event is being held May 6-8, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel Edmonton South.  We will be there as both exhibitors and consumers.  Our summer staff will be there for training and to learn about attractions and services in other regions.  We will have our own booth in which we will be displaying all the fantastic information about the Grande Prairie Region.  We would love to have your information and promotional items to take with us to help promote your business!

Third Annual Dinosaur Ball

The evening will be held June 22, 2013, at the Pomeroy Hotel Ballroom in Grande Prairie, AB. Following on the successes of the past two Dinosaur Ball galas, this will retain the elegance, incomparable gastronomy, top-notch entertainment, and overall sense of style for which these events are known. Of course, every year is a little bit different. With the feel of the sophistication and refinement of old-world Paris, mixed with some spectacular new live auction items and a dinner of French delicacies, this year’s ball is set to be the most exclusive event of the summer. The dress code is black tie formal, bien sur, and the evening will begin, as per tradition, with a champagne reception.

“The timing is just absolutely perfect: in June the foundation for the museum is scheduled to be underway and for us and all those who have supported us, it is a reason to celebrate,” said PCDI executive director Brian Brake. “That, coupled with the need to close the gap between the funds committed and funds required, make this an essential event as well.”

Table sponsorships are already moving quickly, with only 50 available. Please contact the Initiative office at (780) 532-2362 if interested in sponsoring a table of eight. The $30 million Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum will begin construction this spring, opening in the summer of 2014.
