Rotary Bus Tours
Once again the Rotary Club is offering free city tours by bus for both visitors to and residents of Grande Prairie during June, July, and August.  They will be offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm at Centre 2000 and will begin on Monday, June 3 with the last one happening Thursday, August 29.  We give out 'goodie bags' to the participants of the tours and are always looking for, and appreciate, any donations of coupons, items, etc to put in them.  This is a great marketing opportunity for your business as we get visitors from all over that take part in the Rotary tours.  Please let us know if you are interested in contributing to the goodie bags by contacting 780-539-7688 or info@gptourism.ca.

2013 Operators' BBQ
Remember that the 2013 Operators' Meet & Greet BBQ will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 11:30 am - 1 pm at Centre 2000.  We would appreciate an RSVP if you are coming (780-539-7688) so we can make sure there is enough food for everyone to enjoy.  Bring posters, business cards, any promotional materials and tell us about the Summer you have planned so we can share it with our visitors!  We look forward to seeing you all there to kick off the 2013 tourism season!

Travel Alberta's Travel Publication Distribution Program
Alberta’s tourism operators are invited to participate in a travel publication distribution program at both Travel Alberta Visitor Information Centres (VICs) and Accredited Community and Regional Visitor Information Centres. It is the intent of this program to display Travel publications representing the entire province in order to encourage visitors to travel to and within Alberta.  Please click the following link to learn more about this program sponsored by Travel Alberta and AVIP (Alberta Visitor Information Providers).  http://gprta.staticmedia.ca/uploads/2013/04/2013-Brochure-Distribution-Policy.pdf

Service Superstar Program
You may have noticed posts on our Facebook page congratulating specific people on their exceptional customer service.  These people have been nominated through GPRTA's Service Superstar Program.  This is an annual celebration honouring customer service excellence and community involvement in the tourism, hospitality, retail, and service industries.  When a Superstar crosses your path in a restaurant, hotel, theatre, taxi, retail or service place of business - we want to know about it!  Every week a new individual will be given a Service Superstar Award.  An independent panel will judge the nominations and the nominees from each week will be invited to attend the annual Gala awards evening.  If you would like more information about the program OR if you would like your business to participate by hosting one of our ballot boxes, please contact GPRTA at 780-539-7688 or admin@gptourism.ca.

Summer FAM Tours
Our summer staff has been busy doing FAM tours to learn first hand about Grande Prairie and area to help better promote it to all the visitors that stop into the Grande Prairie Visitor Centre.  If you would like them to visit your place of business, please contact us at 780-539-7688 or info@gptourism.ca.
Sara, Maryann, & Brittany are ready to greet visitors!  Stop by and say hello to them.
