Deh Cho Travel Connection - 2013 Diamonds in the Rough Passport Winner Announcement!
We will be presenting a 1.11 carat ‘Polar Bear’ diamond sponsored by Deepak International Ltd thanks to Mr. Deepak Kumar, President and CEO, cut and polished in Yellowknife, NWT, to the winner at Center 2000 on November 21 at 1:00 pm. The winner has not been told of their good fortune and will be very surprised to be the center of attention. The presentation will be short, we expect 15 minutes, and a small group will be assembled to represent the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association as a partner in the Deh Cho Travel Connection.
A bit about Deh Cho Travel Connection
The Deh Cho Travel Connection route is a 2,200 km driving destination in northwest Alberta, northeast British Columbia, and southern Northwest Territories. There are also several side-trips that participate in this unique tourism destination. The route links 3 of northern Canada’s historic highways; the Mackenzie, the Liard, and the Alaska highway. There are 25 participating communities that offer a wide variety of historical, cultural, and outdoor adventure opportunities and two UNESCO World Heritage sites.
A bit about the Deh Cho Summer Passport Program
The passport contest is hosted by the Deh Cho Travel Connection each summer since 2008. The passport contest runs from May 15 to September 1 and travellers wanting to participate can pick-up a passport at a participating Visitor Information Centre along the Deh Cho Travel route. To be eligible for the contest draw, participants are required to obtain 4 stamps from each of the participating jurisdictions, (AB, BC, NWT) for a total of 12 passport stamps.
