Located atop Saskatoon Mountain, a Provincial Recreation Area situated 150 meters above the surrounding countryside; this day use area has spectacular panoramic views of the south and west portions of the County, the Rocky Mountains and the Kakwa wilderness.

The highest feature on the landscape west of Grande Prairie, Saskatoon Mountain is an island of foothills forest surrounded by agricultural land. The site features a 70-metre-high hill with both steep and gradual slopes. Diverse forests of aspen, balsam poplar, white spruce and birch are interspersed with wetlands and small sloughs. The area is a great place for wildlife viewing, bird viewing, and if you are lucky you may be able to catch a glimpse of the northern lights. The trails that wind through are mostly user maintained and can have obstacles such as fallen trees.
