Belt Drive Betty AKA Renee Charbonneau has been a member of the Canadian Motorcycle Riding Community since 1979 and originally started the Busted Knuckle Chronicles Newspaper in 2003 to inform riders of the North Peace Regions of Alberta & BC about events, businesses and riding clubs that might be of interest to fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.
Over time as the popularity of the newspaper grew, a website called Belt Drive Betty dot Com was added and the two media outlets have evolved to provide a national and international resource for motorcyclists, now called Belt Drive Betty Media!
We are largely comprised of volunteers from the various riding clubs and act as an information clearinghouse. We provide tourism information and “Chamber of Commerce” type services. We collect news from around the block and around the world that may prove to be informative for individuals, riding clubs and businesses. Our mission is to be a clearinghouse of information for riders, regardless of brand, discipline or affiliation. Our vision is to foster a tighter sense of community amongst riders by providing them news, articles and information about their brothers and sisters of the wind. Our ethics are based on old school values of the riding community. We believe in paying it forward and supporting our community. We donate 30% of the space in the newspaper to the charities and causes that riders support.
We also offer members of our web site a whole host of riding support tools like the Never Ride Alone Program, Canadian Riders Support Network and our very own ROAD TRIPS REWARD CARD!
