History of the Project In 2002, Noel McNaught of New Zealand, the widow of John McNaught of the Beaverlodge area, contacted the Prairie Gallery in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada stating a wish to lease the 160 acre Homestead to a group.
South Peace Centennial Museum is a working museum, with steam tractors and various other village activities, located 1 mile north of Beaverlodge, Alberta.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, May 15th to the end of August, and attracts people from all over the world. It receives many school and bus tours. This is an interesting place to visit during the summer; with large celebrations on the 3rd weekend in July, and the first weekend in August.
