10 Spring Things to Do

Outdoor Fun in the Warming Weather

Sitting around a campfire in Grande Prairie RegionThe birds are chirping, the snow is melting, and there’s a hop and a skip to everyone’s step – spring has sprung! We have put together a list of top things to do in our region this spring, keeping in mind the back-and-forth weather tendencies.

But rain, shine, or snow, there is a renewed sense of excitement for exploring and adventure this time of year, and we look forward to seeing how you explore our region this Spring.

1. Go Camping

Many of our local campgrounds open up on May 1st for the camping season. Pack up the tent or trailer and head to our Camping Guide to reserve your spot.

2. Mix Up Some At-Home Cocktails

Local distillery Latitude 55 has the perfect line-up of spirits to mix up some cocktails for those sunny days spent on your deck or at the lake. You can read more about Latitude 55 in our in-depth interview with their team. Or, if you’re feeling like going out on the town, Latitude has a stunning cocktail lounge located in a historic fire station where you can sip on their latest creations (no mixing needed).

3. Visit a Local Food Truck

Grande Prairie is now home to a thriving community of mobile food trucks. Want to track down your new favourite? Check out our friends over at GP Food Trucks for updated times and locations.
