Summer Dining in the Grande Prairie Region
The Pleasure of Patios, Picnics, and Pit Stops
Summer’s the perfect time to enjoy eating outdoors with your friends and family. The Grande Prairie region has no shortage of excellent al fresco options to suit every palate. From patios and gardens to picnic spots, we don’t have the space to list every one of our region’s fantastic dining options – but here are some of our favourite GPRTA members that will have you coming back for seconds, through summer and beyond.
Premier Patios
Is there anything better than a patio on a warm summer evening? Whether you’re a fan of loaded sandwiches or light salads, enjoying a great meal out in the open air just makes anything taste better.
- Red Rock Urban BBQ: Family-friendly, perfectly smoked meats, gigantic portions. Need we say more?
- 92 Beverage Co: Air is clear, sun is warm, drinks are cold, and the sidewalk patio is open. It’s a Good Day, GP. Come visit, bring your doggos. Open till Late.
- Maddhatters: A local favourite serving up the freshest food grown right in our region’s backyard.
- Mr Mikes SteakhouseCasual: Nothing says GP summer like a perfectly seared steak in good company.
- The Lion’s Den Pub: Soup, sandwiches, and so much more – some people call this the perfect pub.
- Crown & Anchor Pub: Plentiful Happy Hour deals, and live music almost every day of the week. Do ask for refills, don’t ask for Free Bird.
-
Enjoy cozy seating, that can accommodate large party sizes, wheel chair accessible, dog friendly of course, all ages until 9pm, bike parking, and south facing!
- Grain Bin Brewing Company: Bring Fido along with you to this dog-friendly patio, and enjoy local craft brews and outdoor games.
- Earls Kitchen and Bar: a year round patio that’s always beautifully decorated, sit amongst the cherry trees with their pretty pink blossoms while you enjoy the daily special or something from the Happy Hour menu.
- Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill: in the heart of downtown Grande Prairie, an afternoon drink, or any evening out Shark’s patio is the place to meet.
Golf Courses
It doesn’t matter if you’re sinking albatrosses or bogeys, sitting back in the clubhouse and enjoying great food and drink after 18 holes is the perfect way to watch the sun go down.
Café Patios
Sometimes, all you want is a light snack to sit back and nibble on while you enjoy the warm weather. These café patios are the perfect place to chill with your friends and family.
