McNaught Homestead Preservation Society

Formed in 2005, the McNaught Homestead Preservation Society is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the historic homestead of Euphemia McNaught—one of Alberta’s most celebrated artists and a key figure in the province’s cultural legacy. Now stewards of the property, the Society works to protect this important heritage site while welcoming the community to engage with its history, landscape, and artistic roots. As a non-profit organization, the Society hosts a series of annual events that bring the homestead to life. The Spring Gala Auction showcases local creativity and supports ongoing preservation efforts; the July Festival invites visitors to explore the grounds, meet artists and crafters, and enjoy guided tours to the nearby lake; and the beloved October Ghost Walk transforms the property into an atmospheric, lantern-lit experience filled with storytelling and seasonal charm. With its blend of art, history, community, and natural beauty, the McNaught Homestead offers visitors a meaningful connection to the Peace Country’s cultural heritage and a chance to explore the legacy of one of Alberta’s influential artists.
