Wembley & District Arts Culture and Historical Society

The Wembley & District Arts Culture and Historical Society (WADACHS) is a passionate non-profit organization committed to recognizing, preserving, and sharing the art, culture, and history of Wembley and the surrounding Peace Country communities. Formed in 2012 and supported by a devoted volunteer board and membership, the society stewards a 6-acre heritage site through a 30-year lease, transforming it into a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, and community connection. Visitors can explore a collection of historic buildings—including a 1941 airport house, one-room schoolhouse, Anglican church, dray barn, and blacksmith shop—each restored to honour the stories and people who shaped the region. These unique spaces host weddings, meetings, workshops, art exhibits, and educational programs, ensuring that heritage remains active, accessible, and meaningful for residents and guests of all ages. WADACHS continues to grow its offerings, most recently renovating the former Saskatoon Winery building into a community events centre that supports gatherings, celebrations, and cultural programming. Signature events like Christmas in July invite the public to experience the site firsthand, further strengthening local pride and engagement. Driven by its vision to enrich quality of life through arts, culture, and history, WADACHS stands as a welcoming destination where the past, present, and future of the Wembley area come together.
