A jewel in the Peace Country, the non-profit Nitehawk Adventure Park has been delighting outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages since 1960. In that time it’s grown from a quaint ski hill to a year-round, multipurpose recreational area, with more than 40,000 visits each winter. Located 10 minutes south of Grande Prairie, Nitehawk also offers an onsite luge track, as well as warm-weather activities such as the Gravity Mountain bike park and freestyle water ramp. Their renowned wilderness campground (46 fully serviced sites, plus another 33 power only) is open year-round. Nitehawk’s scenic surroundings make it a popular destination for weddings, and its expanded chalet and rental shop are some of the reasons they were chosen to host the 2010 Arctic Winter Games.
