A jewel in the Peace Country, the non-profit Nitehawk Adventure Park has been delighting outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages since 1960. In that time it’s grown from a quaint ski hill to a year-round, multipurpose recreational area, with more than 40,000 visits each winter. Located 10 minutes south of Grande Prairie, Nitehawk also offers an onsite luge track, as well as warm-weather activities such as the Gravity Mountain bike park and freestyle water ramp. Their renowned wilderness campground (46 fully serviced sites, plus another 33 power only) is open year-round. Nitehawk’s scenic surroundings make it a popular destination for weddings, and its expanded chalet and rental shop are one of the reasons they were chosen to host the 2010 Arctic Winter Games. At this time, summer bike activities and day camps are on hold as Nitehawk Adventure Park recently experienced a landslide. With the chairlift out of operation for this winter; use of the Platter Lift, the 100-foot Conveyor Lift and the 600-foot Conveyor Lift will permit skiing & snowboarding on the top of Showoff run, the Halfpipe, Willoway, and Bob's Bump runs, and the Terrain Park. The Aquatera Tube Zone, the Adventure Zone Toddler Play Area and the Aquatera Toddler Tube Lane will also be open. Due to COVID-19, Nitehawk Adventure Park is currently closed. Please visit their website for updates.
