WADACHS is a non-profit society that was formed in 2012. We have a 30 year lease for 6 acres of land within the town of Wembley. Currently we are a 9 member volunteer board with about 55 Lifetime members. We work to recognize, promote, preserve, protect, and appreciate the art, culture and history of Wembley and surrounding areas.
Our vision is to improve the quality of life for the residents of Wembley and surrounding areas by providing an opportunity to learn about, and appreciate our past, present and future through the arts, culture and history or our area. Our Heritage site consists of a 1941 airport house, a one room school house, an Anglican Church, a dray barn, and a blacksmith shop.
Our goal is that these buildings will be able to generate some income, have educational value, and involve the community in activities and events. The church is used for small weddings, events and meetings. The school will be an art gallery and home to workshops and classes.
Our most recent efforts have been renovating the former Saskatoon Winery building into an events centre. Check us out on Facebook @Wembley & District Arts Culture & Historical Society and in person at the site for Christmas in July.
