Wander Into Autumn at the Grande Prairie Corn Maze
Just outside Grande Prairie, the GP Corn Maze at Country Roads RV Park is a fall tradition worth getting a little lost in.
Stretching across 9 acres, the maze winds through towering rows of corn, offering plenty of twists, turns and opportunities to see where the path takes you. With the surrounding countryside adding to the experience, it’s an easy way to spend a fall afternoon outdoors with family or friends.
As the season moves into pumpkin time, the Pumpkin Festival brings even more harvest fun to the farm, adding pumpkins and seasonal activities to the mix.
You don’t need a big plan for a day at the corn maze. Grab a warm drink, head just outside Grande Prairie and make an afternoon of it. Sometimes the best fall adventures are the ones where you don’t quite know which way you’re going.

Take in the Last Blooms of Summer at Sunflower & Swallow
At Sunflower & Swallow, east of Grande Prairie, the flower U-pick continues through September, offering a chance to gather the last blooms of the season and enjoy the changing countryside around you.

Step Back in Time at the South Peace Centennial Museum
The South Peace Centennial Museum’s Fall Harvest Festival takes place September 12 from 10:00am–5:00pm, celebrating the traditions of the harvest through pioneer skills, rural life and local heritage.
Explore the museum grounds, discover stories from the region’s past and see how earlier generations lived, worked and prepared for the changing seasons. Set among historic buildings and reminders of the area’s agricultural roots, the festival offers a glimpse into a way of life that is an important part of Northwest Alberta’s story.
It’s a great fall outing for families, history enthusiasts and anyone curious to discover more of the people, places and stories behind the region.
An Autumn Stroll at McNaught Homestead
Take a peaceful autumn stroll through the McNaught Homestead, where marked trails wind through the relaxing landscape toward the McNaught Lake Nature Site.
Open to the public 7 days a week throughout the day, it’s a lovely place to slow down, take in the fall colours, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
The trail is approximately 1 km to the boardwalk, where you’ll find beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife along the way.
